How My Company Cut Costs and Increased Profit

So my boss calls in about 5 of us to his office and lays down the line, “we need to cut costs!”  I think that all of us were thinking about our employee benefits or what we were going to be doing as unemployed people.  But instead of firing anyone we had a discussion about how we can be more efficient as a company and how lowering our costs would increase our profit – standard business rules. This is what we came up with:

1.  We decided to minimize the amount of paper we use and tested out online/paperless ways to do business.  We told our clients that we would only be writing up reports in PDF – some our our clients wanted hard copy reports.  We also used an online payroll software to keep track of payroll electronically.  This helped us when filing our taxes electronically because a lot of our tax documents were already in a digital format.

2. We figured that traveling expenses were too high so instead of traveling around meeting clients we started group online video conference calls.  This saved us a lot of transportation/traveling expenses and it also let us stay at home with our families more often then not.

3. All employees are being cross trained meaning that almost all of us are somewhat skilled in another persons tasks.  This will help when someone gets sick or can’t make it into work. We are saving money by not having to outsource work or call in temporary help when the time is needed.  This also will help us in the long run because employee personal and business growth.

4. Work scheduling. Using staff scheduling software from wheniwork can help to make your business more efficient. Limiting the time people are in the office can help to save money and provide a productivity boost.

These were the first three steps we took and are taking to cut costs at our small business. They were simple adjustments and made one heck of a difference. We are looking into other ways to cut costs and increase profit without letting go of our most valuable assets – the people that work with us.

The Driving tests can be the most stressful aspect of getting your driver’s license. However, much of the stress can be relieved with adequate studying and preparation. If you practice on the road enough, you will have enough comfort in your skills as a driver. You will not merely pass the driver’s test. You will actually ace your test. Your confidence levels will be influenced by how well you do on your test. If you do great on your test, you will have higher confidence levels which will translate into your actual driving experience.

1. Schedule in some romance. Whether you’re staying in a fancy hotel or bungalow on stilts over the beach, be sure to set aside time for a romantic candlelit dinner, complete with fruity cocktails with umbrellas in them. Consider dining alone in your room to ensure lots of “alone time” to be close to each other and simply enjoy each other’s company.

2. Discuss side trips before you leave. Don’t surprise your new spouse with your desire to go on a long hike up a volcano, because he or she may have been planning a lazy time laying on the beach for the duration of your trip. Do some internet research ahead of time, browse guidebooks and discuss the options. Biodegradable Products

As the economy, pollution, and products which are harming the environment has become a hot topic as of late, many large companies and retailers are turning to the use of biodegradable materials, in order to make products that are not as harmful to the environment, and still provide the same beneficial use to the end consumer. These reusable products are far more eco- friendly, and are still going to offer the beneficial use to the end consumer that they are looking to get from the product. Products that are made of biodegradable material go through a natural decay process and merger with the soil, once its useful life is completed, and when it will finally be thrown out as waste material.

These Biodegradable Products, include disposable plates and cups, food storage containers, serving dishes, and similar lines of products. All of them have the ability to improve the capacity of the soil and retain water, which in turn causes less soil erosion to occur. Additionally a landfill that has several products that are of biodegradable material emit less pollution and noxious gases into the environment, which can be extremely harmful to the environment as well as to the general public, due to the lesser emissions of methane in the biodegradable material that was used in the production of these products.

One biodegradable product that people always overlook is actually under their feet.  Eco-friendly wood caskets are truly one of the best ways to honor one who has passed and who was always conscious about the environment.  One who always fought for the ecosystem and how to keep this world going deserves to rest in peace in a casket that fits their way of life.

Products that are made of biodegradable material address the problems with landfill waste, especially since the amount of waste has been increasing in landfills over the past few years. These products, prior to being sold to the general public, do undergo lab testing, ensuring they are not harmful to those using them, or to the environment. Due to the shift in a “greener” environment, many companies are producing these products, and more and more consumers are requesting that they be sold in the marketplace.
